It has been a very busy time for the last few weeks here. For a few weeks, I have been getting over a cold that just don't want to go away. The odd part is, it seems I get it when I get cold or chilly. If I go to bed, it goes away, and then when I get up, it comes back. Anyway... I seem to be getting over it now.
The last update I had here was about our strawberry-picking day. The next week, we had a combined garage sale from 4 different families at Kelley's place. It turned out alright. I made some money out of the "junk" that I had laying around my house. Of course, like most garage sales, not everything will be sold. So, a lot of the "junk" that I was wanting to get rid of, is back in my house. I'm trying to accumulate the stuff that I don't want and need to send back home to the Philippines (or some other third-world country) for used clothing/items for the unfortunate ones over there. I just hate the concept of throwing things away when I know a lot of people can really use them yet, and would appreciate it.
4th of July Weekend
For July 4th (Independence Day), we went up to Jeb's grandma's place to see their annual fireworks display. This year was her last year of shooting off fireworks. They always have awesome displays. The show lasted up to 45 minutes to almost an hour. We kept thinking that the current fireworks they were shooting off were the finale, but no... it just kept going and going and going. It was pretty cool! I was taking a video of the fireworks at the very beginning. My camera battery didn't last. I was a bit bummed since I wanted to get the grand finale fireworks. It was really grand.

Trip to the County Fair
Also, for the first time since I have been here, we went to a county fair. We went to our own Fond du Lac County Fair in July (16). I always thought it would be kinda fun and all, seeing it (the fairs) from the movies. It sure was fun but of course, like all movies... it is in the movies so they can do pretty much anything they want. Well, to my surprise, everything in the fair is OVERPRICED. And the games, I was told that they are all rigged and are pretty much money-makers. It is almost impossible for you to win. I enjoyed watching the little races though, like the pig and duck-swimming races. The kids and I enjoyed looking and going through all the different animals that was in the fair. There were all kinds of animals, from the local ones to really exotic ones I have never seen before--chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, rabbits (one was extremely huge and fat, it was so cute!), goats, sheep, camels, ponys, horses, cows, zebra, llama, emus, cattle (one was a really hairy one), water buffalo, bison, huge tortoise, etc. It was like going through a zoo! It was cool. There was a country singer that was singing that night too, but we didn't stay for that, even though our ticket we paid was good for the entire day and the concert included. I kinda wanted to stay for that and experience a live country concert, but we decided to go home. The kids were getting tired and I thought it might be a bit too loud for lil' Amberly. All in all, it was a fun day.

Camping at Morgan Lake
The week of July 22-26, we went camping up north at Morgan Lake. Our family loves camping and every year we try to go camping at least once. Well, last year we weren't able to go camping and this year, it just so happened that Jeb has a whole week off from work, so we decided to go camping this year. At the beginning of the year, I already told Jeb that I wouldn't be inclined to go camping this year because of Amberly being just born and too young, and I wasn't sure yet of her temperament then (she wasn't born yet). Anyhow, Amberly is such a good and content baby that I suggested going camping for Jeb's week off. He really liked the idea and then, before we know it... the whole family is going camping with us! Everyone, except for Sabrina and Matt. We even had friends of ours from church come camping with us... it was great.
However, our camping week didn't turn out as well as we had expected. It was raining and cold most of the time we were there. If you are a first-time camper, it would be really miserable. We just love camping so much, we have to brave it and make the most out of the situation. Unfortunately, some of us that went camping were running out of warmer clothing for the kids that they had to go home a day early. It was still a lot of fun and these are the times that will always stick in our memories, for a long, long time.

Kids' First Baseball Game
The next week after camping, our family went to a Brewer's baseball game. Jeb's dad and mom invited us to come with them. This is the kid's first baseball game ever. I think Jordan is a bit too young to understand the game. All these time, he was thinking that he was the one going to "play" the game, throw the ball and bat and all that stuff. He got really bored after a while just sitting on his seat and watching the game. He did enjoy watching the "hot dogs" race though. We didn't stay for the entire game. The kids were getting tired and besides, the Brewer's played horribly! But we all did have a good time.

Update on Jordan
Jordan is almost 4 years old coming October. I can hardly believe it has been that long having him. He should technically be in Pre-School classes now. I am however, planning on delaying and having him start 1st grade when he reaches that age. I will just be giving him some home-schooling classes and activities that covers the basic pre-school curriculum. I don't know how to go about it but we'll manage. :) We are starting the basics of reading and familiarizing alphabet sounds. I would like to get him into art as well. I love drawing and painting when I was younger (still do), so I'll be getting him more paint and art stuff. He is very creative and imaginative.
He is growing so much, mentally, physically and in all aspects. He still loves singing and absolutely loves puzzles. He has been doing some small 12-pc puzzles since he was 3, and at this point he can put those puzzles together in under 3 minutes! One day, I will have to take a video of him doing his puzzles. Just recently, we gave him as a reward a bigger puzzle, a 48-pc puzzle and he puts them together very well. The first time he put it together, he got it done in just under 10 minutes.
Jordan also enjoys helping his Grandpa/ma Mortier taking care of their chickens and sheep. And loves playing in the waterpark, when we can go there to cool down in the summer heat.

Update on Aubrey
Aubrey is growing up so fast as well. She is 2, but seems to be mature for her age compared to other 2-yr-olds. She pretty much potty-trained herself (which she is still working on, but doing really good). She is obsessed at changing 3-4 outfits every single day, which is making laundry a never ending chore for me. Yes, she changes her clothes by herself. She likes having her nails painted all the time, but lately I am trying to cut back on it. I, myself am not too big on the whole painted nails thing. I like more natural and besides, I don't like all the chemicals that can get into her system at a very young age. I want and am trying to encourage simplicity in beauty with my little girls. I like them to feel beautiful enough without having to "paint" themselves all the time to feel pretty. Afterall, beauty is within, and the character and poise that you project to other people.
She is a 'monkey-see-monkey-do.' She copies most of what Jordan says and do, even with me or Jeb. She also is such a good helper for me. She loves taking care of her little sister, Amberly. She'll grab me a diaper and wipe whenever she knows I am to change Amberly. There are even times when she hears or smells Amberly go poop, she'll grab the diaper and wipe and hand them to me and tell me that Amberly (she calls her 'Amy' or 'Ambermee') needs a change.
Just like her brother, she enjoys and loves being by Grandpa/Ma Mortier and helping in their little chicken and sheep farm. She loves singing and dancing and books. I just love how all my kids are such cuddlers and affectionate children. Aubrey is extra affectionate. She loves cuddling and being cuddled.

Update on Amberly
My little Amberly is almost 3 months old (on the 20th of this month). She is getting oh-so-big! She'll be having her 3rd month well-being checkup at the end of the month, and I look forward to know how much she has grown for weight and height. She is smiling a lot now and gives a little one-syllable chuckle when she smiles. I'm trying to work on getting her to giggle yet. She coos when she "talks". It is such a delight! She's also starting to rub off some of her hair in the back of her head. I am so amazed at how content of a baby she is. I thought Jordan was a really content baby when I had him... but Amberly is even much more! I couldn't ask for a more content baby. She hardly fusses and cries, except when she is hungry, tired and wet/dirty. She still sleeps a lot right now and when she wakes up, she gives you this huge smile when she sees you. She is so much like Jordan when he was a baby. She loves being sang at, especially when Jebby makes up songs for and about her. It almost looks like she is dancing with the music and just keeps smiling at him. I love watching them interact.
She is starting to notice people's faces and gets concerned when she can not see me or if she is being held by a stranger. I just love this stage of a baby when they are just starting to be more aware of their surroundings and smile at you, but still very dependent upon you.
