My crochet project is finally done. Actually, I have done the scarf for a while now. As I have said, crocheting can be a bit addicting and so when I was done with my scarf project for Aubrey, my hands got itchy again to crochet more. So, I looked up some simple patterns on the internet and found a simple and easy baby hat / beanie. I was thinking of making one for my little Amberly for when she's born. Of course, I am not that good yet with reading the patterns with all the terms and symbols, so I just guessed myself. There was a video demo of how to do the pattern. I kept going back and forth the video making sure I made my stitches right and the counting. Anyhow, at the end I didn't quite make it as it should have. I quit following the pattern after a few rows and just did my thing. The baby hat / beanie turned out a bit "mishaped" but oh wells... it was my first try. I just hope it is small / big enough for my little girls head. I tried it on one of Aubrey's baby dollys and it was a bit big for the dolly's head. I figure it should be big enough for Amberly. My babies are always tiny and smaller headed than most babies, so I guess it should work. If not, then, Aubrey's baby dolly can have a hat. :)
Here's a few pictures of what Aubrey's scarf look like:

And of course, my little Aubrey definitely needs to model it for you :) I think it looks very pretty on her.
For the scarf, I used a single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), and a double crochet (dc). I did a shell stictch (6 loops) for the outer edging. I dc 6 loops to make the wavy outcome.
And here is my latest project... the baby hat / beanie, that is a bit cone-head shaped. :)

My first crochet baby hat. Jebby wanted to model it for us :)
This baby hat mostly used a half double stitch all throughout and the shell stitch for the edge (brim).
Currently... I am finding myself wanting to do more crocheting, so I am getting adventurous and making a little baby blanket / afghan. This pattern that I found used a single crochet, half double crochet and a V-stitch. As usual, I couldn't follow the steps on the pattern correctly so I am diverting and making the blanket on my own. I have a whole ball of white yarn yet that I want to use up. My blanket will be very boring, just white, like my scarf and hat. I'll make sure to show a picture of the finished blanket, which I really hope turns out. I have just about 5 inches of length for the blanket (and about 2+ ft in width)... still a ways to go!
Anyway, I find crocheting very enjoyable and relaxing. I'll see if I can get more pointers and tips from my mom-in-law. 'Til my next post on my crocheting journey.

Aubrey's a really cute modle too
